His "Evil" Ranking[]

His "Villainous" Deeds[]

  • Has stolen car gas by taking fuel from a cop and agitates him, which went for to such an extent that he is responsible for his death in "Ration Bored".
  • Heckled Papa Panda by pecking holes in his roof.
  • Broke into a hotel owned by Wally Walrus.
  • Disrupts and pesters Andy Panda and his father by constantly creating holes in the roof of their house, which he did as a form of personal amusement in "Knock Knock".
  • Terrorizing Oxnar and later murdering him by turning his remains into hamburgers, which he uses to sale them in "The Hollywood Matador".
  • Almost killing an elephant by nearly causing it to burst while inflating it with water in "The Dizzy Acrobat".
  • He, with the help of a cat, successfully murder an large moose in "Pantry Panic".
  • Abusing and then murdering an Indian chief for no good reason (it's also implied that the chief died) in "The Barber of Sevilie".
  • Brutally abused a poor giant in "Woody the Giant Killer".
  • Acting racist and even violated traffic regulations by speeding on the road and he never gets punished for his actions. in The Screwdriver".
  • Causing harm and misery to his own father in the episode "Born To Peck".
  • Repeatedly cause inconvenience to everyone in the Pine Grove forest of Pennsylvania, where he annoys and tortures Lance Walters and his family (ex. gets both of them covered in wet cement, getting Lance electrocuted with an electric net and gets their caravan house burned down) and appears to relish in making everyone's life miserable, as well as outright taking pleasure in attempting to murder people, as well as taking photos of the people he harms for his enjoyment with no punishment for his mindless actions in his 2018 feature film of same name.
    • He also defecated on a guy's chocolate ice cream (which, when he does, Woody is disgusted that the guy still ate the ice cream), and also did it again on top of Lance's girlfriend Vanessa.
    • He stripped two underage boys to their underwear and threatens to go even further with harming them just for them being bullies.
    • Violently wounding Otis and Nate (two poachers) and hurting them infinitely by throwing them over and chasing them relentlessly while they were afraid of them. Woody also refused to let them go, made them fall off the bridge, and get them arrested once the two exasperated poachers wanted to turn themselves in.
    • It's not helping that he shows certain vibes of a psychopath and a serial killer with the thrill of causing trouble and harm to others for no reason but for kicks. Especially the scene where he got two poachers arrested and he laughs psychotically.

Why He Isn't A Villain?[]

  • He is extremely bog-standard and unable to qualify as a true villain since he is an anti-heroic troublemaker at best, and a sadistic jerk at worst (especially since many cartoon characters are jerks by nature due to being based on the ancient trickster-god myths, thus making him more like Bugs Bunny or Screwy Squirrel than say Marvin the Martian) and not being able to stand out in a villainous way compared to Buzz Buzzard (who has killed 274 sheriffs and started a galactical war).
  • He is more akin to a mischievous prankster rather than a villain since the things he did and even his worst moments, doesn't truly leave much of an impact in general besides light-hearted trickery, shock value and over-the-top slapstick humor. His actions also don't escalate beyond basic bullying, harassment and abuse of power (which, again, lacks lasting effects besides it merely being jokes).
  • He has shown genuine care for several people, such as Knothead and Splinter.
  • He is on & off since, despite being selfish and chaotic, he does several heroic deeds and has helped multiple people such as a beagle, a mouse, and as a result, it shows that he always means well with the people he cares about, especially in The New Woody Woodpecker Show.
  • He is sometimes played for sympathy since he was treated as a butt-monkey in Late-1961-1972 episodes like "Skinfolks", "Woody's Clip Joint" and "Shutter Bug".
  • In the 2017 film he has shown remorse when he sees that he caused Lance's newly built blue house to burn down.
